Donations
Youth SVP is a charity which relies upon donations to function. We strive to make the most of the money that we are given, and for a charity with a small budget we feel we deliver fantastic results! We are always on the lookout for new funding, and so would welcome any donations that you may be able to give.
But why should you consider donating to Youth SVP?
You would be supporting a network of over 120 school and parish groups, helping over 3500 young people to carry out much needed voluntary work in the community. Youth SVP helps both the young volunteers and the people they serve - everyone grows in a positive way. Many of our young members become more confident through their experiences, and end up taking a more active and positive role in society. To find out more about the great work our groups do, please feel free to look at some of our group casestudies.
If you are able to donate anything then please visit our donations page. Many thanks for anything you can give, we greatly appreciate your support.
Become a Youth Development Officer!
Youth SVP is currently looking for people to take up the role as their area’s Youth Development Officer (YDO). This is an important role in the development of Youth SVP. The YDO’s role is to help set up and support Youth SVP groups in nearby schools and parishes, introducing a new generation to voluntary work. There’s no age limit to being a YDO, all that we ask is that you have some free time during the working week and a positive attitude towards involving young people in the work of the SVP.
Youth SVP has Youth Development Officers in 10 of the 23 Central Council regions, so you would be joining an existing team of people who would be happy to share their experiences and offer you advice. You would also receive regular support from the National Youth Development Officer, who would take time to help you settle into your role.
Interested? We currently need YDOs for the following Catholic Dioceses:
| Bristol | Middlesbrough |
| Cardiff | Northampton |
| East Anglia | Nottingham |
| Hallam | Plymouth |
| Lancaster | Southwark |
| Liverpool | Westminster |
| Menevia | Wrexham |
We strongly urge you to consider becoming a YDO. To find out more about this opportunity or to receive a more detailed role description please feel free to contact us on 020 7407 4644 / youth@svp.org.uk. Give us a call! We’ll happily discuss the role with you further.
