Youth SVP groups engage in a huge variety of activities which benefit the local community. At present there are 120 active Youth SVP groups throughout England and Wales. The following is just a sample of the activities undertaken:


Helping with swimming lessons at a local special school
(St. Alban’s High School,
Ipswich)

Year 10 & 11 students assist disabled toddlers and children at soft play on Monday evenings
(St. Michael’s High School, Billingham)

Teaching computer skills to local retired people whom they invite into their school
(Blessed
Robert Johnson College, Telford)

Visiting St. Oswald’s C.P.S. to listen to pupils reading at lunchtime
(St. Edmund Arrowsmith High School, Ashton-in-Makerfield)

Visiting a home for handicapped adults on Thursday evenings
(Most Holy Redeemer Parish, Billericay)

6th Formers help at the local Salvation Army Charity shop sorting and pricing articles
(SFX 6th
Form College, Clapham)

Helping at a lunchtime drop in centre at the local Baptist church
(
Maricourt High School, Maghull)

Year 11 students run a mixed ability club in the local school on Sunday evenings
(St. Patrick’s High School, Thornaby)

Running games every Friday evening at a local children’s club
(
St. Joseph’s Parish, Sale)

Helping to produce tapes of newspapers for blind people
(All Hallows High School, Penwortham)
